i know to say you or somebody can change the world seems like a Big Harry Audacious Goal or that we are pretty prideful. but because of Jesus i believe we can do all things through Christ Jesus.
so a while back erin leigh patterson who works with land of thousand hills coffee, jonathan rich, and i were meeting @1000hillscoffee and out of that meeting about a mixed bag of stuff we talked about pulling together friends through all our networks for a one day gathering to tell the amazing story of how God is using land of thousand hills coffee and some others who God is working through for his glory.
so out of that crazy gathering and amazing coffee (1000hillscoffee drink coffee and do good) jonathan and i said, let’s put together a gathering to let people here the story of justice and mercy from jonathan golden, and hear from others. so we reached out to kris mcdaniel, larry grays, todd mcmichen, nathan tran, brian audia, and jonathan merritt. not to mention that galen jones will be there showing people about an amazing water purifier that can help in amazing places around the world, jon west from the atlanta community food bank, mike reinsel from cares team/apartment life, jim haskel from urban atlanta church planting.net, brian audia from surgance, jonathan rich from buy a record save a life, land of thousand hills will have coffee and great stuff.
so please come, sign up today, please invite a friend and bring them with you. you pay at the door $15.00 for a good chick-fil-a box lunch. you can pay cash or check made out to land of thousand hills coffee. clairmont hills baptist church is hosting and allowing us to use space for the change the world gathering. for more info . . .

this blog is not being written to show off but in hopes of helping people help people in haiti. personally this impacts my life because people matter to God and should matter to me where ever they live. secondly my room-mate in college was from haiti, and i have had the opportunity to see the amazing work God is doing through haitian churches in miami and new york.
one of my friends and fellow church planters in atlanta, his wife is from haiti and i believe they have family in haiti. so here are some links and information about ways you can help.
okay, atlanta is not chicago, new york, or other cold city places. but it is snowing (don’t laugh so loud all you northern people) and people are flocking to my office starbucks for something good and warm. there is no room to sit down anywhere and people are not only standing in line for coffee but a place to park themselves in a chair.
so i was sitting at a table with three chairs. one for me, one for my computer sling pack, jacket, gloves and hat and one chair for the different people I meet with. so with it being packed you of course give up an empty chair, and you also move your stuff out of the empty ghost chair. but than you allow someone to sit at the same big table as you and work on their computer like you are working on your computer.
so what’s next do you talk to the person? do introduce yourself? do try to carry on a conversation? why do you even have to ask those questions, the answers are yes, yes, and yes. why because people matter to God! and they should matter to me. so i have a new friend on a snowy day @ starbucks.
Here is an article fro Bob Roberts. I read his article and I want to share it with you about missional stuff.
Merry Christmas!
Tim
this week i get to be in south carolina working with southern baptists. i work with the urban atlanta church planting group and we are going to get to have some kingdom connections over the next few years with associations and local churches in sc. it will be powerful to see these groups come to atlanta and work side by side with church planters and their plants.
it’s going to be exciting to see Christ followers from south carolina working side by side with people in atlanta. the uacp is very excited about this new partnership, i pray that atlanta is never the same as the body of Christ serves and seeks the welfare of the city together shoulder to shoulder – heart to heart.
it’s my first time in south carolina other driving through or just watching a soccer game . . . i have njoyed meeting some new friends, and the food was has been outstanding. the leadership in sc seems focused, and i even got to meet some church planters – sharp guys! debbie mcdowell the mission mobilazation leader is sharp as they come and south carolina has a rich history of being on mission and great mission partners.
i’ll be back in my hood saturday, i’ll coming home atl!
thanks pastor anthony for sending such a great mission team to the ATL!
