have an amazing week and remember to allow God to use us to be the hands and feet of JESUS!
Today I want to talk a little bit about the week that just past. I just completed my second week of going back to work after a total right hip replacement. So far everything is going good I feel like I’m a little slow and of course I cannot drive yet so most of meetings I need a to be taxied to the location. But this past week was so GOOD. I meet this past week some church planters on Tuesday who want to do something together and see “the church” bring all the credit and glory to God. Good stuff coming soon and very soon.
I also got to go and spend some time with the 1027church team and a friend/neighbor in a retreat setting. The time was special and helped with us asking and answering questions about discipleship. I have had several friends/mentors/coaches helping with this process as well as some reading from guys like, Alan Hirsch to Avery Willis.
Sunday at 1027church was Fun as it seemed God brought us all back together from the summer. Pam and I hosted a lunch at our house after church for college students and it was good to reconnect with several friends as well as meet some new college friends. Pam did an outstanding job on the Chicken Enchiladas.
As always thanks to the set-up and break down crew’s and kids community leaders you all are the BEST. I believe God is going to do some good stuff this Fall. This week @1027church will be at the Georgia State BCM Tuesday Ignite serving dinner and Jonathan Rich will be talking about his CD project and clean water check it out here
Remember somebody you know needs to know Jesus bring them with you this Sunday. Or spend some time with them this week and pray for them, talk with them, serve them. Love your neighbor!
Big Thanks to Thomas Busby and all the amazing volunteers who make Sunday’s happen @1027church. I’m so thankful for those serving in kids community. Those who set-up the coffee area every Sunday, and serve amazing Land of Thousand Hills Coffee.
Community groups are starting back up soon Sunday/September 12th. I hope you will find a good day and time and get plugged into a community group that will allow you to grow closer to Jesus, each others and serve others all over the city of Atlanta.
Yesterday was another special time to gather together to worship as a Church. I enjoyed meeting some of our GUESTS yesterday and I hope they will come back again anytime.
It was powerful to celebrate the Lord’s Supper together and through worship of giving, praying, reading scripture and singing.
Community Groups start up September 12th! Please talk with Thomas about getting connected with a group. See you next Sunday if not sooner.
Keep praying for your neighbors and tell them about our GREAT God!
I’m so thankful for a special 4th of July week-end. @1027church we had a great 4th of July. We went old school and had a church picnic in the park across the street from where we meet @johnhowellpark. Thanks Molly for organizing it SUPER job with some good food. Thanks to those who brought friends.
I look forward to seeing everyone this Sunday @1027church as we look at John 19. We will also be taking another step in the “SummerLife” journey Wednesday/July 14th as we go have some community at the Stone Mountain Laser Show. thank you Jesus for our friend matt armstrong and thank you matt for coming by this past sunday and using your ability to create through painting and literally painting a picture that was holy spirit lead and inspired. i’m so lucky to be a part of 1027church. you do not want to miss this coming Sunday as Thomas Busby will be preaching.
We had a super week-end and Sunday worship gathering @ 1027church.
Westwood College Team joined 1027church for the week-end. Brought about 20 something college students with Mark and Janice amazing leaders and my friend Micah Millican. They came to town Friday @ 5 p.m. My mother-in-law cooked a great meal Friday night for all. We then had a some good Bible Study and than prayer. Ended the evening @ Apre’s Diem with some great customer/manager service.
Saturday we all joined forces together to do a little Home make over for a single mom and her three children. It was such a fufillining day of work. Tons of yard work, a team assembled a swing set unit, and play area for the unit. Painted 3 rooms and a bathrom, installed 3 ceilling fans.
Provided some quality time at the park, chick-fil-a, a little shop of stories book store and some more child care for the 3 little guys while their mother was at work. For some the day started @ 7 a.m. and then finished up at 6:15 p.m.
I thank God for allowing us to serve this way, Westwood Church College Group for partnering, 1027church, Elder’s leading us to make the investment for the day and several others who gave sacrificially. As a matter of fact God provided for the mom to start running her AC by a special gift that will be given to pay her bills for the next months. She was only running AC 1 hour a day to save money.
Than today @ worship we had some amazing GUESTS, Jeremy Ezell lead worship for us while our very own Jonathan Rich was on vacation with family. Worship was special, we heard God’s word and than the single mom shared at the end and said thank you God, 1027church, Westwood Church she said, “Saturday Jesus came to my house and I also have a church!”
The video we used in the service is below, music by Sho Baraka. The GLORY belongs to you Jesus! That’s How We Roll!
What a super week-end of @1027church being literally on the streets of Virginia-Highlands for the Summer Fest 2010. It was awesome to see @1027church volunteering in many areas of the festival. And I have heard several sharing about amazing opportunities to serve along side our neighbors.
Please be ready to come out this coming Saturday/June 12th as @1027church and the Westwood College Group and we serve @Extreme Make-Over starting @ 8:30 a.m. going till 6:30 p.m. E-mail info@1027church for more details! See you there or Sunday 10 a.m. @1027church.
I cannot believe what a super memorial day worship service we had @1027church. Really God took care of all the details and we followed his lead. I cannot believe the amazing people who showed up on a holiday week-end. I’m thankful for Jonathan Rich’s leadership, partnership and friendship and that he is a super worship leader and today he did an awesome thing and just worshiped with 1027church as Cliff Seal lead worship. Cliff is a super worship leader, and leader @ 1027church.
It was an exciting Sunday as God continues to bring GUESTS! Thanks for praying for people, inviting and GUESTS for coming!
I think it was also special on Memorial Day that as we remember the men and women who GAVE their lives and their BEST so America could be FREE! That FATHER GOD brought 1027church to John 18 and we see Jesus staying the course and saying I am He and I will drink the cup of suffering on the Cross so you can really be FREE.
Then Jesus even prayed, Matthew 26 39Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” 40Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” 42He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.”
It seems that everyday should be memorial day because Jesus drank the cup of death to pay the price of the sins of the world! Thank You Jesus for giving us life – eternal life! Thank you Jesus for men and women who gave their lives for America to be free. God please let the nations be saved!
